How to Check RAM Information in DXDiag
Open DXDiag (Windows + R, type dxdiag). On the System tab, find the Memory field. It shows your total installed RAM in megabytes — divide by 1024 to get gigabytes. For example, 16384 MB equals 16 GB RAM.
Finding RAM in DXDiag Step by Step
- Press Windows + R, type
dxdiag, press Enter. - The System tab opens by default.
- Find the Memory field in the list.
- The value shows total installed RAM in MB. Divide by 1024 for GB.

What DXDiag RAM Info Cannot Tell You
DXDiag only shows the total amount of RAM. For more detailed information about your RAM, use:
- Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc → Performance → Memory): shows used vs available RAM, RAM speed, and form factor.
- CPU-Z (free tool): shows RAM type (DDR4/DDR5), speed, timing, and how many slots are used.
- Physical RAM sticks: the label on each stick shows type, speed, and capacity.
