DXDiag Sound Driver Information

The DXDiag Sound tab shows your audio device name, driver filename, driver version, driver date, and whether it is WHQL certified. Open DXDiag (Windows + R, type dxdiag), click the Sound tab. Check the Notes field at the bottom — it shows No problems found when the audio driver is working correctly.

Common Audio Issues Found by DXDiag

If the Notes field on a Sound tab shows a problem, common causes include:

  • Driver not found / hardware missing: Reinstall the audio driver from your PC or motherboard manufacturer's support page.
  • Unsigned driver warning: Replace with the official signed driver from the manufacturer.
  • Device disabled: Open Device Manager (Windows + X), find your audio device, right-click and enable it.
